- Ensure safe driving and expeditious delivery of products to
hospitals, healthcare facilities, homecare patients and other NYBC
and customer facilities.
- Must follow proper procedures when delivering and picking up
items, for example paperwork and signatures.
- Ensure an on time pick-up of blood drive materials, delivery of
materials and set-up of materials prior to the arrival of collection
staff. Work with dispatching office to determine the time of
delivery and routes to be obtained.
- Be sure to quickly and efficiently check and pack all equipment
and supplies at the end of each drive, and returning such equipment
and supplies to regional center. Driver is responsible for
protecting equipment and supplies from theft. In some occasions,
Driver will work with other drivers to return items or move items to
a different site, fixed, mobile or other.
- Maintain drivers daily log. Compliant with DOT regulated items.
Reporting back any issue or concern as soon as noticed.
- Punctuality is crucial to the set-up of a blood drive.
- Stay up to date on schedule needs and changes. Be prepared to
pick different runs as needed. Ensure compliant with picking
schedule
- Inspecting vehicle upon receipt and notifying management
of anything out of ordinary. Leaving the vehicle clean and neat at
the end of the shift. Checking all fluid levels and pressures. Can
be assigned to gas up, park and wash vehicles.
- Excellent Customer Service Expected and Required KNOWLEDGE
Education: High School Diploma or GED ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED.
- You must bring copy of GED or Diploma on first interview
- Experience:
- 2 to 3 years truck driving experience required; bus driving
experience a plus.
- Must be able to provide all commercial driving positions held
within the past ten years if any.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to meet and follow all Department of Transportation
(DOT) regulations including passing a mandated DOT physical.
- Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions
accurately. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. required.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
- Ability to drive a straight truck and cargo vans must be
demonstrated. Good customer services skills required.
